Update on Marilyn Wong....

Oh, I have been quite lazy for the past few days and weeks.....I'm not busy anymore with work but busy attending weddings every weekend! Last Saturday's wedding was simply great. It was a tiresome day for some of us but I guess it was really worth the trouble of preparing for this auspicious day!

The bride, Yvonne looked so pretty and stunning & Peter Ho, the groom looked so charming!! Peter proved himself worthy to be the man in Yvonne's life as he confidently played the MIX Perfect Match games organized by Yvonne's witty, pretty and lovely friends haha......If only Peter had given the wrong answers, then I bet Peter and all his "brothers" would be drenched in their sweat doing pumping haha.....But of course, kudos to Peter for answering accurately!! Honestly, I think they are meant for each other i.e nice Peter and lovely Yvonne. Wanna see photos....haha, as usual....will put them up someday when I'm super free ;p

Anyway, here's some updates on Marilyn Wong. She is doing very well now.

"Her doctor did mention that Marilyn is one of his BEST transplant patients and by God’s grace she shall be discharged from the hospital very soon," according to Marianne, her eldest sister.

So, as far as I know, little Marilyn doesn’t need to go through blood/platelet transfusion if her blood count continues to move up to a healthy level. In fact, in Marianne's e-mail to her friends and colleagues, she wished to thank everyone who has been praying for her sister. She hopes that we would continue to pray unceasingly for God's protection hands to be upon Marilyn i.e speedy recovery and good health always.

Yeap.....thank GOD for HIS grace and mercy upon Marilyn and her family! Do keep them in your prayers.

Please help to donate blood!

Many months ago, a staff from IT department (rephrased after Mr. Lecturer pointed out an error....) at my college sent us a traumatic e-mail. It was about her little sister, Marilyn Wong aged 12+ who's suffering from leukemia. I've heard of adults suffering from leukemia but I've never thought that I would come so close to knowing someone, especially a friend's sister who has to endure such excruciating pain at such tender age!! After many chemotherapies, her sister had finally undergone her bone marrow transplant on 31 October 2005 and last week, I was told that she required platelet transfusion immediately due to low platelet count. Operation was successful but she is still very weak.

My colleague, Marianne Wong who's Marilyn's eldest sister had no choice but to resort to sending out e-mails to her friends asking people to help donate blood ( any blood type) or platelet at Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC).

The address of SJMC is as follows:
Subang Jaya Medical Centre
No.1, Jalan SS 12/1A,
47500 Subang Jaya,
Selangor,
Malaysia.

Telephone : 603-5634 1212
Fax : 603-5634 6075

Before you proceed to SJMC for platelet donation, the donor needs to have Marilyn's medical record number to complete the donation procedure. Thus, please kindly call Marianne Wong (012-3989610), Marilyn's eldest sister for further details. Thank you!

Well, I still remember way back in college days when I was so terrified to donate blood. I took me hours contemplating to go or not to go!!! I walked to and fro thinking what should I do.....should I or should I not!!! That particular day was so memorable because I had so many friends around me to support me and to encourage me while I was lying on the bed. I feared the syringe, the medicine smell and everything that has to do with blood......I'll probably faint if I see a real surgery going on!

In fact, one of my good friends, Emily gave me a sticker and she said, "Keep this, I got it while I donated blood. I know you won't dare to donate blood, so this is in remembrance of me!"

Can't help saying this cliche, but time flies and yes, I did donate blood on that memorable day in college! But, I still fear the syringe and till today, whenever I donate blood, it's still a big thing and a big step for me!! I'M STILL VERY SCARED haha.....

Will be donating blood this Wednesday. So, please keep me in your prayers! Tq......
