Ok..updating my blog
Well well....I kept this post in my draft some time ago. Didn't have time to click "P-O-S-T" until today 4 Sept 2006 hahaha....
Like I said, been busy.....super busy but thank God, by HIS grace, I'm still alive and well :) When the new semester started at the end of July, I thought I probably wouldn't survive because of my heavy workload and the fact that I'm expected to juggle work, some people, and church all at the same time. I'm not a saint, neither am I a machine but I'm just a plain workaholic :p
But surprise, surprise, it ain't as bad as I thought it would turn out to be. Reflecting on what had happened for the past few weeks in random order, let's see.....
1) My entire windscreen just shattered before my eyes while I was driving on the Guthrie highway heading home on a Monday evening after class a month ago. Terrible blue monday!! Until today, I still couldn't really understand why, how or what hit my windscreen but deduced that it must have been hit by big+small, whatever stones since there were people cutting grass on both sides of the highway. What a tragedy!! If only I had a premonition that it would happen at that specific time and day, I would have delayed going home sigh :p What else could possibly happen?
Today, I looked at it from a different perspective. Hmm, praise God that HE has protected me from any form of injuries. In fact, I'm quite pleased with my new windscreen that is sooooo clear, ain't greasy like the old one haha.......plus dad installed a CD player in my car....let's rephrase, my "mum's car" but driven by me for as long as I could remember haha :)
Have no plans to trade in or sell my lovely old green Satria of 10 years no matter what trendy new models are in store. Declined a superbly good deal from my parents; from 50-50 (50% from me, 50% from FAMA) sponsor deal to 100% FAMA to get a new car. I must be out of my mind to decline such offer. Indeed, I am an idiot! Just don't wanna be forever indebted to them.
2) My grandmother passed away 1 month ago as well I think. It wasn't a period of mourning but instead my family and friends came from far and near to celebrate the fact that she has lived a ripe old age. One regret, she still didn't know the Saviour :p
Throughout my life even as a young child, I didn't have the opportunity to know my grandmother. It was one of the many choices in life that I was forced to make; either I favour my mum or my grandma because of their 3-4 decade-old rivalry, bitterness, unforgiveness etc. I wonder why humans could be so bitter against their own kind? But sad to say, even I myself was not spared from experiencing that horrible feeling.
3) Week after week, my pastor has been preaching on the topic of "Forgiveness" and somehow, my heart is so hardened that I seem to know all the consequences of an unforgiving heart but I have not taken any actions to reconcile with someone whom I called my best friend once. What has gone wrong? Why does it happen to me? Every time I see the person, my heart will ache so badly as though someone has just slain me or stabbed a dagger into my heart! Perhaps it's me who can't accept the fact that people do change for whatever reasons thanks to the prosperity message, perhaps I have been so blessed all my life that I have never experienced the reality of life- "to be without".....perhaps I need to be more compassionate. Perhaps I should be a successful accountant so that I could afford many more things in life.
Eleven years ago, I've set my heart to run the race and reach out to people. To this, I will keep my faith & my promise and not being an accountant is not so bad after all. If something is true, whether or not you believe it is true does not matter because it will always be true with or without you.
4) Thank God for Merdeka hols (Malaysia celebrated its 49th independence day-National Day on 31 August). I had a good break on Thursday cos it was a public hol- no class yippeee on behalf of my students. Took the time off to sleep in and managed to meet up with Mak for supper. He was his old self, ever so sarcastic and entertaining at the same time. Well, I guess not many people could put up with his sarcasm i.e imagine having a meal with someone who keeps correcting your English thinking that he speaks perfect English haha :) But what the heck, I've known him for almost 11 years now, whatever bitter, wise, sweet or lousy things that he said didn't really matter coz I know he's actually a really loving and sweet brother.
Food for thought for Mr. Mak, the proper English is, "She is older/younger than I or I am" but do you know that most Malaysians have generally changed & accepted it as "She is younger than me". "me" used here is an object. In fact, you can split the sentence into two : She is young. I am young, and you don't say "me" is young.
The sentence is grammatically wrong to say, "She is younger than me", but it has been universally spoken by everyone, so I don't blame you! Ignorance is bliss sometimes, makes life less complicated. I love my Convent school and I love my English teacher haha :) Sorry if I've been mean to you Mak to correct you publicly. Don't think you'll be offended since it's a constructive comment for you. Anyway, if you're mad at me, you can scold me anytime as you like ok. I'll be glad to entertain you :)
I'm gonna miss you so much when you go UK to work soon. I might consider joining you one day or perhaps relocate to a geographically different environment; for a change; for some reasons; for the better I guess. Sad but life goes on.
Take care dearest brother. God bless!
